Polar fleece jumpers and jackets for teams, workwear and decoration
Warm, durable, embroidery-ready fleece. Mens and womens. No minimum order.
Polar fleece clothing — the reliable warm layer for Australian winter programs
Polar fleece is the most versatile winter mid-layer available — warm without weight, fast-drying, anti-pill construction that holds its appearance through repeated washing, and a flat pile surface that accepts embroidery and decoration cleanly. Blank Clothing stocks polar fleece jumpers and jackets across zip-up, half-zip, pullover and bonded constructions for teams, uniform programs and decoration runs.
Who orders from our polar fleece range?
Corporate and team uniform buyers adding a warm mid-layer to staff kits — polar fleece is the standard corporate layering choice for branded winter uniforms
Schools and clubs equipping teams with matching polar fleece for training, community programs and school-colour kits
Outdoor and site crews using polar fleece as a thermal mid-layer under a waterproof or softshell outer jacket during colder months
Decorators and embroiderers sourcing blank polar fleece stock for corporate logo jobs — the flat pile construction is one of the most embroidery-friendly substrates available
Hospitality and food service operators providing warm front-of-house layers for outdoor service or cold-room environments
Polar fleece styles available
Full-zip polar fleece jacket: zip through from collar to hem, popular for corporate programs and layering kits where ease of on/off matters
Half-zip polar fleece jumper: pull-on with a chest-length zip opening — versatile between a casual jumper and a technical mid-layer, popular for team and outdoor programs
Pullover polar fleece: no zip, crew or round neck — clean front panel preferred for large-format embroidery or screen print, suited to casual and recreational programs
Bonded polar fleece: fleece interior bonded to a wind-resistant outer shell — combined warmth and wind protection in a single garment. Suitable as an outer layer in moderate conditions.
Why polar fleece works for embroidery
Polar fleece is among the most popular corporate embroidery substrates for winter programs. The flat pile surface provides a consistent base for logo stitching — particularly for left-chest embroidery, back-yoke placement and sleeve branding. Unlike knit fabrics, polar fleece doesn't stretch significantly under the embroidery hoop, which means consistent stitch density and clean logo edges. Use a standard tear-away stabiliser; a topping film (water-soluble stabiliser) can help preserve pile appearance on high-visibility backgrounds.
Sizing — mens and womens available
We stock polar fleece in separate mens and womens styles. Mens styles typically run from S to 5XL; womens from XS to 3XL. Individual product pages include chest, body length and sleeve measurements. Polar fleece is typically sized for a standard or slightly relaxed fit to accommodate layering — if the garment will be worn over a base layer or thermal, check the body length measurement in the size chart.
In our range, polar fleece jumpers typically refer to pull-on styles (no full front zip) — half-zip or crew neck constructions. Polar fleece jackets typically have a full-zip front opening from collar to hem. Both provide the same fleece warmth and construction; the zip configuration affects ease of on/off and decoration placement. Full-zip jackets suit layering programs and corporate kits where on/off over other layers is important. Pullover and half-zip styles suit more casual and team programs.
Yes — polar fleece is one of the most embroidery-friendly fabrics available. The flat pile surface provides a consistent base for logo stitching, particularly for left-chest embroidery and back placement. The fabric doesn't stretch significantly under the hoop, giving consistent stitch density and clean edges. Use a standard tear-away stabiliser; a water-soluble topping film helps preserve pile appearance on lighter coloured fleeces. This construction is widely used by corporate decorators for winter uniform programs.
Standard polar fleece is warm but not wind-resistant — wind passes through the pile construction. For wind protection, a softshell or bonded polar fleece (which has a wind-resistant outer shell bonded to the fleece interior) is needed. In practical terms: polar fleece works well as a mid-layer under a waterproof or softshell outer, or as an outer layer in dry, calm conditions. Bonded polar fleece provides both warmth and wind resistance in one garment. See our softshell jacket range for wind-specific outer-layer options.
Screen printing on polar fleece is not recommended — the pile surface doesn't provide the flat, stable base needed for reliable ink adhesion and print quality. Embroidery is the preferred decoration method for polar fleece. Heat transfer and vinyl application are also suitable alternatives on the flatter portions of the outer surface. If screen printing is a must for your program, consider a pullover hoodie or jersey-knit garment instead, which provide a flatter cotton or poly surface for inks.
We stock polar fleece in separate mens and womens styles. Mens sizes typically run from S to 5XL; womens from XS to 3XL. Individual product pages include full size charts with chest, body length and sleeve measurements. Polar fleece is sized for a standard or slightly relaxed fit to accommodate layering — check the chest measurement particularly if the garment will be worn over a base layer or thermal.
Machine wash on a cool gentle cycle using a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softener — it can coat the pile fibres and reduce the fleece's softness and thermal performance over time. Tumble dry on low or air dry. Polar fleece dries quickly so air drying is a practical option. After multiple washes, some pilling is normal on lower-GSM fleeces — higher-weight anti-pill constructions resist this. Check the care label on each garment for specific wash instructions.
